This 240W Grow UFO LED High Bay (IP65) – MEAN WELL for growing plants is the perfect lighting solution for replacing high-pressure sodium lamps (HPS) or metal-halogens (MH).
This luminaire generates a complete light spectrum (Ultraviolet 750nm) inciting the exact wavelengths necessary for growing plants (380nm-500nm,600nm-800nm), avoiding a loss of energy on wavelengths that aren’t necessary for the optimal growth of the plant (500nm-600nm).
As a photosynthesis provider, light is fundamental for the production of plants. The development and growth of plants are significantly influenced both by the quantity and quality of the light. An important note is the µmol amount, a unit which measures the photons that can be found on the leaves of the plants. The growth of a plant under normal conditions is produced within a 600-1000 µmol/m² range of photosynthetically active solar radiation. Not all plants have the same micromole count for development. For example, growing lettuce with 100μmol per 1m² would be sufficient. However for plants with more voluminous flowering will need a minimum of 600 µmol/m².
Using this luminaire, users can considerably improve the quality of their plants, obtaining a vigorous flowering and also, reducing the high consumption rate of conventional halogen cultivation bulbs. *The photonic energy provided by this High Bay, as well as the cultivation surface it covers, will vary depending on the height of installation. The standard parameters are: 645 µmol and 0.7 m² at 0.5 m.258 µmol. and 1.6  m² at 1 m.134 µmol and 2.8  m² at 1,5 m.86  µmol and 4.9 m² at  2 m.
